  1. Beat the Heat with a Cool Cat! Free Adoptions All July

    July 3, 2018 - July 31, 2018 @ Irving Animal Care Campus

    The Irving Animal Care Campus is filled with great pets looking for their dream homes. Animal Services is extending its Adopt-a-Cat month special, waiving adoption fees for cats one year and older; kittens are available for a $50 adoption fee. Vaccinations, spay/neuter, leukemia test and microchip included with all cat adoptions.

    All adoptions must be processed 30 minutes before closing.

      The exhibition aims to explore the idea of travel and American culture through interactive photography. Vernacular photographs taken in the 1950s and ‘60s are featured and paired with contemporary photographs Natalie Slater shot along the modern day Route 66, from the same locations and vantage points. The images are backlit and overlaid inside interactive light boxes to create a unique road trip experience, with a view towards both past and present. Exhibit located in Carpenter Lobby.   1. Teen Field Trip: National Videogame Museum and Stonebriar Mall, Frisco

    July 3, 2018, All Day @ Lively Pointe Youth Center

    The field trip series is open to youth, ages 12-17, and transportation is provided.

    Payment for field trips must be made at the time of registration; space is limited. Participants must arrive 15 minutes prior to departure for field trip. Staff does not condone disrespectful or illegal behavior. Parents will be notified of children who have behavior problems during field trips. In serious cases, parents may be required to pick up child from field trip location, and/or child may be denied from attending future field trips.

    Field trips are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Interested participants may sign up online or in person at Lively Pointe Youth Center, 909 N. O’Connor Road. For more information, call (972) 721-8090.

  2. Red, White and Blue Celebration

    Celebrate Independence Day with food, entertainment by the Heritage Steppers and Tappers, a posting of the colors by the Irving Fire Department Honor Guard and its Pipe and Bell Team, and a patriotic concert by the Dallas Banjo Band.
