    Area educators are invited to an afternoon of free accredited workshops, led by Sam Houston State University professors and ambassador authors from the North Texas Teen Book Festival, emphasizing how Young Adult and Middle Grade literature can dynamically alter the way teens and teachers connect in the classroom.   1. Irving Concert Series

    April 20, 2018, 7:00 PM - 8:45 PM @ Whistlestop Plaza

    Irving’s annual concert series showcases live music performances throughout the spring. The theme for April 2018 is "Vintage Vibes." Enjoy the sounds of classic songs from diverse genres, including rock 'n roll, big band and funk. Attendees spread lawn chairs and blankets in front of the stage and enjoy homemade picnics or food from the vendors on-site. Parking and admission are free to all shows. In the event of inclement weather, shows will be moved to an indoor location.

Think Green... Be Green Events

  1. Earth Day Texas - Fair Park

    Join Irving’s Be Green team at Earth Day Texas, an annual free three-day festival that seeks to elevate environmental awareness in North Texas. Through exhibits, entertainment and education for all ages, the community is inspired to lead a more sustainable lifestyle. Concessions will include everything from organic and vegan food options to favorite festival treats. Attendees additionally are encouraged to take the train (TRE/DART) to Fair Park.

  2. EVENT FULL: Night Hike on Campion Trail

    This event is full and registration is closed. Please consider joining the Sunrise Hike in September.
    Explore the nighttime world of animals of Campion Trail with native species experts and learn more about the sights, smells and sounds of nature at night. Night hikers are invited to challenge their skills in spotting signs of animal life and sharpening other senses. Learn more about the kinds of animals that call Irving home.

    Registration is required for all participants. Registration deadline is Wednesday, April 18.

    * Restrictions: Due to the nature of the Night Hike, which explores animals in their habitat at night, the hikes are limited to children ages 5 years and older. Strollers and pets are not allowed. Other opportunities are being planned for children ages 5 years and younger.
