Aquatics

  1. Red Cross Lifeguard Class

    May 11, 2017 - May 14, 2017 @ Heritage Aquatic Center

    Want to learn skills that will help you save lives? Become a certified lifeguard.

    Prerequisite: Minimum age 15. Successful skills test, which includes 300-yard continuous swim; a 10-pound brick retrieval from a 7- to 10-foot depth of water followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick; and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Test must be completed one week before class or must have instructor approval.

    Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Life Guard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.

  2. Broadway Then and Now, Irving Chorale

    Everyone has a favorite Broadway classic, and in recent years there have been some great new musicals that have come to Broadway. Irving Chorale will spend the evening mixing old and new, giving a great flavor of what Broadway is now and what it once was! Performance will feature songs from such productions as Cabaret, Get Happy, Hello Dolly, Les Miserable, My Fair Lady, Pippin, Side Show, Suessical The Musical, The Grand Tour, The Light In, The Piazza, Wicked, Hair Follies, Sweeney Todd, Merrily We Roll Along and A Little Night Musical.

  1. Irving Concert Series

    May 12, 2017, 7:00 PM - 8:45 PM @ Whistlestop Plaza

    Irving’s annual concert series showcases live music performances throughout the spring and early summer. Each year the series brings a variety of bands united by a common theme. Attendees spread lawn chairs and blankets in front of the stage and enjoy homemade picnics or food from the vendors on-site. Parking and admission are free to all shows. In the event of inclement weather, shows will be moved to an indoor location.
