Think Green... Be Green Classes

  1. Birds of the Region

    February 16, 2017, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ West Irving Library

One of the best ways to learn to enjoy birds is by watching what is in the area. From the comfort of one’s back porch, a person can see many birds, depending on the location of the porch or patio. The availability of appropriate habitat features is the factor that determines which species are present. Watchers certainly won’t be able to see all birds, but they should be able to see enough birds to help develop skills of observation that can be taken into the field. This educational class will help students identify birds specific to the north central Texas region and is a precursor to the Great Backyard Bird Count, which begins Feb. 17.
