In the Japanese culture, the tradition of the Toro Nagashi ceremony floats lit lanterns on the water in remembrance of those who have suffered atrocities.
In October 2017, more than 350 people turned out at Irving's Mandalay Canal to promote awareness of domestic violence, and honor victims. Lanterns floated in the canal with special messages and names of those affected. Stay tuned for updates in 2018, as we continue the conversation and shed light on domestic violence.
