Aquatics Programs

Children Swimming
Whether its lap swimming, water aerobics or just plain fun in the sun, residents can participate in a variety of programs offered through the Aquatics Division.

The city currently operates five seasonal pools located at Lee Park, Lively Park, Senter Park, Cimarron Family Aquatic Center and West Irving Aquatic Center. The city also operates two indoor, year-round pools: North Lake Natatorium and Heritage Aquatic Center. Learn more about Irving's Aquatics facilities.

Pool Schedules

Irving’s seasonal pools operate from Memorial Day weekend to late summer.  The exact dates vary each year, but typically, the seasonal pools close between mid-August and Labor Day Monday.

The city's indoor aquatic facilities are open year-round, and they offer residents a variety of opportunities for swim instruction, recreation, exercise and competition. Indoor swim facilities are closed on city designated holidays

Spray Parks

In addition to the neighborhood pools and aquatic centers, the city also manages two seasonal spray parks, which are free and open to the public. Both facilities are open daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day between the hours of 11 a.m. and 8 p.m., with one non-operational day per week.

Northwest Park, located at 2800 Cheyenne St., is closed on Mondays; Southwest Park, located at 2800 Shady Grove Road, is closed on Tuesdays. These modified hours help support the city's water conservation efforts. LEARN MORE

Swim Lessons

Ready to get started with something different? Learn to swim at the North Lake Natatorium or Heritage Aquatic Center. Classes are underway for ages four through adult. View class schedules at SoggyZoggy.com.

Swimming is great for all ages. Swimming increases cognitive development, motor coordination and provides the foundation for an active outdoor Texas lifestyle.
In addition to learning to swim, each class covers key points in the City of Irving’s drowning prevention initiative. In Irving, there is something for everyone, including lifeguard training, swim clinics, swim classes and aquatic exercise for special needs. If you’ve never learned to swim before, it’s never too late!

Water Aerobics

Ready to add a new twist to your exercise program? Consider signing up for a low-impact, high-cardio indoor exercise program at North Lake Natatorium or Heritage Aquatic Center. Morning and evening classes are available.
